Five years ago in the Eastern Serbia group of young enthusiasts took an interesting and useful initiative whose motive was to gather people from natural sciences faculties who had an ambition to learn, to change, help and to explore. It seems that they have succeeded because this year it will be sixth time for this event to take place, but this time with much wider group of people. During the years structure of participants has changed, from students from local universities to different kind of interested parties all over the world. Today, aside students, you can find scientists, environmental enthusiasts, people from tourist sector, local people… Uniqueness of this project is its initial motive, resistance to destruction of Balkan mountain, in which foot this event is taking place. Camp venue is elementary school in village Temska.
This initiative got our attention and we decided to join the camp and to explore Balkan Mountain from the angle of this project. Even though we are familiar with this mountain, its size offers great possibilities for exploration, but above all, for adventure.
Camp „Balkan Mountain 2013“ will take place in period 10-24.7.2013 and we’ll be your report from there. After the event we’ll write about what we saw, learned, and maybe some new advent(o)ure comes out…
