Standing between the Old Palace and the Serbian Parliament, it quickly becomes clear that Belgrade is a city where history still shapes everyday life. During this Belgrade private tour, the route moves from royal residences in Dedinje to Tito’s mausoleum, from the immense mosaics of Saint Sava Temple to the lively pedestrian streets of the old town. By the time you pause for coffee near the Cathedral and the centuries-old Question Mark Tavern, the city’s layers — royal, socialist, and modern — begin to connect in ways that guidebooks rarely explain.

For travelers visiting the city for the first time, the tour connects key landmarks, historical periods, and districts into a clear overview rather than a list of isolated sights.
A guided visit to the House of Flowers explains why Tito remains one of the most discussed figures in the region — and how Yugoslavia shaped everyday life across the Balkans.
Inside Saint Sava Temple, the vast gold mosaics and scale of the church reveal the importance of religion, identity, and national symbolism in modern Serbia.
Exploring Republic Square, Knez Mihailova Street, and the Cathedral quarter reveals the everyday rhythm of Belgrade — where cafés, historic buildings, and local life mix naturally.
#YourSerbiaHost will pick you up from your address in the city (usual start time 10am) and takes you to your first stop at the plateau between the Old Palace (today Belgrade City Assembly) and the National Parliament. This square often reflects Serbia’s public and political life. Standing here also helps explain the political turbulence Serbia experienced over the past century, from monarchy and Yugoslavia to the changes of the modern democratic state.
From there you continue to Dedinje, Belgrade’s prestigious residential district. Here you see the Royal Palace complex and visit the House of Flowers, the mausoleum of Yugoslav president Josip Broz Tito (closed on Mondays), where the guide explains the context of Yugoslavia and Tito’s legacy.
The tour then proceeds to the Church of Saint Sava, one of the largest Orthodox churches in the world, known for its monumental scale and impressive mosaic interior. This landmark also illustrates the importance of religion and national identity in modern Serbian history.
The final part of the tour takes place on foot in the historic center, starting at Republic Square, home to the National Museum, National Theatre, and the statue of Prince Mihailo. From there you walk along Knez Mihailova Street, through King Peter’s Street, and toward the Cathedral Church of Saint Michael the Archangel. Nearby you will also see the historic Question Mark Tavern, the oldest operating restaurant in Belgrade.
Before returning to your accommodation, there is usually time for a short coffee or drink break in the old town. The tour normally finishes around 2 PM.

Thank you, Serbian Private Tours, and especially our guide Andrija, for three wonderful days in Belgrade. Everything was perfectly organized, and Andrija’s knowledge of the city, its history, and his recommendations for places to explore during our free time were exceptional. If our team plans another event in Serbia, we’ll only be reaching out to this company!

We totally enjoyed spending the day with Milijan Miljevic. We saw all of Belgrade, but the highlights for me was the Church of Saint Sava….I am over seeing churches, but this one was so special. All the mosaic tiles used on the ceiling walls and floors was spectacular! and the House of flowers where Tito was buried. There was so much to see and Milijan was so informative.

What a great tour! Professional, informative and fun. Everything was organized from the beginning. The company reached out to me a couple of days before to confirm details and on the tour day, I was picked up from my hotel on time and in a comfortable car. This was the perfect introduction to Belgrade. Andrija showed the highlights of the city. He knew so much about the history of the area. He was able to adapt the itinerary and show the places I was interested in. I love that it was a customizable tour. Throughout the tour there were great recommendations on more places to explore on my own or just sit and relax. I would definitely do this tour again.
